Stressing Me Out

The last couple of weeks have been stressing me right out. My new job has been really good but really just A LOT so much my head hearts every night when I get home, but the thing that has been stressing me out more than anything else is these two love birds....
Yes, Rhett and Scarlett from Gone With the Wind just about put me over the edge. It's one of, if not my number one, favorite book EVER. Why have I not read this beauty before?? I really couldn't put it down until I finished every one of those 1400 pages, and then I cried and I cried and now, two days later, I canNOT stop thinking about it.

I'm hoping the movie will ease some of this stress, but I doubt it.

Battle for Vesta

My brother is very smart and used his nerding skills to create a fancy iPod App Game that was reviewed by MacWorld today.

I think you should buy it.

Davis Bell and Friends 2010

Another dodge ball season has come and gone. This year was my third year on the official roster but my first year actually playing.

I kind of felt like the special one on the team. Whenever I dodged a ball our team would yell, "Yeah, Melissa, good job! Yeah! Yeah! That's so neat that you were able to dodge that ball." Even though I was the worst one, (at least I can admit it, right?) I still had a lot of fun playing. Thanks for being a nice captain, Andrea. You can read more about why I was reluctant to play the last few years, and the competitive nature of this intense sport here.

6 Days....

If I don't shower today, tomorrow will be one WEEK since I had the chance. If you know me well, you already know that I'm not the kind that needs a shower every day, or even every other day, usually two or three a week works for me, but to go an entire week, I don't think I've done that since Linds and I were setting records in Ecuador for the longest in the group to go without a shower (I won with 17 days... eww, that's gross). So why don't I just take a shower? WE DON'T HAVE ANY HOT WATER, and I'm not about to take a FREEZING shower, NO WAY.

We haven't had hot water since Friday night, and I was planning to take a nice long bath Saturday morning until I realized we had a water problem. Now that I'm a mature adult it's literally driving me crazy that I haven't showered for nearly a week but the other people in our building are literally losing their minds. Imagine how bad it must be if I, a nice innocent girl from Utah, who doesn't even shower enough to keep up with social norms is freaking out. Every time I run into a friendly neighbor they start dropping F bombs about how pissed they are about the water situation. People are starting to leave notes in the elevator. Here's a friendly one I saw last night, "IT'S BEEN THREE F*&^ DAYS!" and now all of the tenants are supposed to call some housing attorney and the city so we can get our rent discounted. This has all been communicated through, you guessed, it more notes in the elevator. I guess there's nothing like making already angry New Yorkers even angrier. Nothing but good times around here, friends.

While we were in Utah we hit up some movies at the festival. On Friday we went to a bad one in SLC that we would have been fine leaving.
Then on Saturday we headed up to PC and saw some shorts that were really good. "The Fence" was about the fence on the Mexican border and it stressed me out about how much money we're wasting for NOTHING. We also saw Spike Jonze's "I'm Am Here" about robot love. SO GOOD.

Here We Are...

Attempting to ski and snowboard with all of these pros..

It's a secret... but I think lunch in the lodge might have been my favorite part of the day...
