I love going to concerts (as I know most people do). I always have, and I'm pretty sure I always will. I started going really regularly back in junior high, and I think it's what I've spend most of my discretionary income on since. There's just something about seeing the songs that I love performed live that drives me crazy. I LOVE IT. I have ZERO musical ability. ZERO. I'm officially tone-deaf, and I really don't know anything about music other than I love it. So I just really respect people who sound so good live. I'll go to pretty much any show if it's something that I know I'll enjoy... I love all types, but I especially love to see women performers. If it's someone that I especially love, I find myself fantasizing about what it would be like to be them.

This week went to see a band I've been wanting to see my entire life.. Fleetwood Mac. (I told Davis I feel like Madison Square Garden is turning into our "Classic Rock" venue because we've seen so many oldies but goodies there. I feel like if we don't see all of the classics we haven't seen, we won't ever see them because you never know when they're going to quit touring.) Anyways... It was SO amazing to see Stevie live. I loved hearing her so familiar voice, and watching her quirky dance moves. I couldn't stop imagining what her and Lindsey were like back in the day.

Before she sang "Gypsy" she said that she wrote the song back in '78 or '79 when the band was so huge, and she felt like her life was out of control. She said to get away from it all she would empty everything out of her room besides her mattress and some candles, lay on the mattress, with the lights out (probably high), and listen to music. As she was telling the story I couldn't help but picture what her life was like back then, and be slightly jealous. I know it sounds crazy, but I sometimes secretly wish I could have lived the life of a crazy rock and roll star. I think being a little hippie, touring around the country, having intense love affairs, being around all of those crazy talented musicians back in the day, and just being a part of something so huge would be so.. I don't even know the word, but it just sounds appealing in a way that if I didn't care about anything else I would love it. Then you add in singing or playing your heart every night out to screaming fans who can't get enough of you... It sounds so crazy, but so fun and adventurous . I guess it doesn't really fit in with the rest of my life style, eh? Maybe it's good I wasn't born with any musical talent after all. I'll just have to get my fix day dreaming at the shows... I guess Stevie was a little "Gypsy" for me... Holla!

"Here Comes the Sun"

I'm not going to lie... All of the fun summer clothes
are making me sad for the first time in my life. Let's face it, knee length shorts and cap sleeve shirts just don't do it for me.

"I'm Only Sleeping"

Nici informed me that I haven't posted enough about Lyla.. So here you go lady...

Last week I was home sick for a couple of days. Yes, I was actually really sick, but I know you still don't believe me. I even went in on Friday and had to leave early because I just couldn't handle it. Anyways... I ended up sleeping most of those two days and every time I woke up, Davis would show me more pictures similar to these.

There's nothing better than cuddling with my baby! Even if she is tangled in my hair. Holla!

"I Feel Pretty" (or lucky)

When I was little West Side Story was one favorite movies so when I heard it was going to be on Broadway I was pretty excited! Nat came into town this weekend, and we decided we'd give the lottery a good old try (knowing that we wouldn't win because I NEVER win the lottery)...

Friday night I realized that I couldn't enter since I lost my wallet earlier in the week and didn't have an ID so Nat and Jam went without me and didn't win. On Saturday, Nat said she wanted to try again, and I realized that I could use my passport (yes, I have to carry my passport around for ID now). HOLLA!

Anyways... Guess who won the lottery... Yep, me, and it's a hard one to win since it's the new hot show in town. I screamed pretty loud when I won... yep, I'm one of those annoying screamers! Anyways, we sat front row and center for the show for $26.50, and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. It was seriously AMAZING.. right up there with Wicked. Nat and I kept looking at each other in disbelief at how good it really was. My favorite part was the out of control dances... my oh my.. They kind of blew me away. So, I guess what I'm saying is, if you're in NYC, and you want to see a show.. this is definitely the one you should see.. and maybe you could even convince me to go with you again!

Davis and I made it to the first dodge ball game in two years, and Lyla became the official mascot... The team is named after Davis -- Davis Bell and Friends, so it was only fitting that he attend at least one game!
That night was also the premier of Lyla's sweater...

What do you do when you have a rental car from work for a weekend???
Head to the 'burbs, that's what. And no, you don't go once... you go twice to Cheesecake Factory in two days... That's what I'm talking about...
And then when you get back you come home to these sweetie pies hanging out, and you sit down to eat your piece of White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake (the 2nd you've had in two days), and you think that everything is perfect until...

you wake up the next morning and your car is gone, and you find out it's been towed, and it's only $250 to get it out, and your work won't reimburse you, and then you lose your wallet, and then your puppy pees on the floor, and then you wake up the next day and it snowed six inches on the stupid car you just paid $250 to get out, and then you realize you don't have a brush or scraper, and then your wedding invites are messed up, and then you get an annoying email at work, and then it's freezing cold in NYC, but then you remember that you went to Cheesecake, and you drove in a car across the GW bridge, and you remember how pretty it was, and it somehow makes it all better!

"Single Ladies"

When I was home some friends had a little get-together because of the upcoming event...
We had a fun dinner at Tin Angel...

Then we headed downtown for a sleepover and reminisced about when we used to have them every night... It was some good times...

The party planners and me....
