"At the Stars"

Davis claims that his hidden talent is catching random things... I'm not so sure about that, but I am sure that he's a pretty freaking amazing celebrity spotter....He spots big ones and small ones all the time, and I love it...
Recently we've seen a couple of fun ones...
You might remember this guy, Jeremy Sisto, from Clueless. We spotted him at Bubby's the other morning. He was super cute in real life (cuter than in pics even), and I couldn't stop staring at him. I loved that he was rocking a sexy beard.
We saw this SNL beauty, Casey Wilson, shopping at J.Crew at Rockefeller Center last weekend. Davis was standing about two feet away from her just staring her right down. I didn't really get it, she's not even that cute, but whatever.
Okay, next we think we saw one of these girls, but we were cruising by on scootsies and couldn't get a definite, so who knows if it's true or not. There are many gross wannabes strutting around this city so you can never be sure.
Here's to more sightings.... HOLLA!

"Sometimes..."

Shopping makes everything all better... Thank you J. Crew.

BTW, this sign reminds me of the old outlet in Jackson that we used to frequent in the summers.

"I'm Good, I'm Gone"

So, this weekend we took the "bikes" (that means longboards and 1 bike) to the park...
Don't worry .. On the way to the park Davis fell all the way over right in front of a cop, and the cop said, "did you guys just get those?" "Nope, we've had them for a long time! Don't mind on us." Oops. Then on the way back from the park Ali and I almost died.. It involved a car, a pothole,a longboard lesson, and a broken seat on the bike... Oops again.

I'm pretty much freaking right out that soon my weekends will consist of being cooped up in a little tiny apartment. Why does the nice weather have to end? Ahh..

"Intervention"

So, the other night I talked Ali and Kellie into watching Intervention with me. Tia told me about the disturbing addictiveness of this show awhile ago, and I've been wanting to watch it ever since. It was SO good, but SO disturbing.

After Intervention, we were in the mood for something a little lighter so we watched The Rachel Zoe Project. This show was also SO good (but you know me, I'm kind of into trashy reality TV). Rach and Rodg are so cute together, and all of the drama with the assistants is pretty classic.

When we got done with our TV marathon, we realized we'd just had a little taste of the other's work life. (And we'd just found two must sees.) All of the parents I work with have major substance abuse issues, and Ali lives the glamorous life of hanging out in fancy clothes all day. I guess it's time for me to trade in the drugs for the clothes, eh?

And, how could I not take advantage of posting this video? Enjoy!

"I Don't Wanna Talk About It"

I've been feeling a little homesick lately. I don't know what it is. I just have. So, as I've been wanting to go home.. this song keeps popping into my head. It's one of my favorites from back in the day. Don't you love when you can not listen to a song for years and then one second it just pops back in and makes you feel better? That's how this one has been for the last week. FYI, this video is so random... but just listen to the song.

Other ways I've been getting over not wanting to be here.... Brad freaking Pitt. Oh man, he seriously cracked me right up in Burn After Reading. I hadn't laughed that hard for a bit...

Also, here's a quick, quick, good read. I read it in 1 1/2 days just on the train. I'm sure you've seen the movie, but seriously, I can't imagine that happening to me. Oh wait, sometimes I feel trapped like that in NYC.
And just to be extra cheesy and extra annoying... here are the lyrics from my song.... Holla!

i can tell by your eyes that you've probably been crying forever
and the stars in the sky don't mean nothing to you, they're a mirror,
i don't wanna talk about it, how you broke my heart,
if i stay here just a little bit longer, if i stay here won't you listen to my heart,

if i stand all alone, will the shadows hide the color of my heart,
will they be blue for the tears, black for the nights we spent apart,
and the stars don't mean nothing to you, they're a mirror,
i don't wanna talk about it, how you broke my heart

"Uptown Girl"

A few weeks ago I moved into a new cute apartment. I'm pretty sure it was the best move I've made in awhile. You never know how much certain things bug you until you don't have to deal with them anymore. I'm loving living in a better location, in a nicer apartment, with fun girls.

Ali and I decided to save some room and just have one bed... It's worked out pretty well so far. Ali keeps telling me she hits me during the night, but those who know me well, know that I'm such a deep sleeper than even beatings in the middle of the night won't wake me up.

Ali picked out this cute color to paint the walls. Pretty cute, eh? I feel like I'm becoming a professional painter living here.

Who knew we'd fit both of our stuff in one room?? We're probably not the best candidates to share a room. We both have kind of a lot of stuff, but after I got rid of half of my clothes we made it fit!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is my last move in NYC. Hopefully my Christmas tickets is a one way...Holla!

"Kids"

It's crazy how quickly fall hit. Last week was summer, and now it's fall. It makes me sad that summer is over. I'm seriously stressing out about it. I can handle fall, but looming in the near future is stupid winter. Last winter was not a good time, and I'm just dreading another one like it...

Today when I woke up I was looking through some pics form this summer, and it made me miss my kids. When I was home in July we went swimming with all of them, and I took some pics. I know they're not very good (what can I say, I'm still learning), but I think some of them are pretty cute.

Paul getting ready to jump in...

I can't get over Ellie... I think of her as my little baby, and she's getting so big...

Weirdo Matt and Princess O...

Mr. J and Grandma Pinkie

Miles Guy... Okay I can't really get over Miles' and his talking. It might be the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Chubby Chubsters Williams...

His arms are just a little on the chubby side...

Ellie and Miles fighting over crackers...

This picture cracks me up because Miles and Rocco have such a funny relationship, and I think it captures it so well.

Why does summer have to end?? I want sunny pool days to last forever.

"Escape"

So, I just finished this book....

and I can't stop thinking about it.
I keep trying to talk to people about it... and as I continue to talk and talk and talk and ramble on and on about the strangeness of the FLDS I can see their faces slowly fading away as they tune out everything I say... I just can't get over it though, and it's driving me CRAZY. Obviously since the raid, polygamy has received a lot of attention, and I've been surprised how many people have asked me about it. I ran into a girl I went to Columbia with shortly after the raid, and she said, "Melissa, you're a Mormon, right? But you don't dress like them..." I guess this book just opened up a world that I've felt so far removed from until I moved out of Utah and everyone thought I was part of it. All I can say is that I'm pretty glad we don't practice polygamy anymore. I'm not sure I could handle it.

"It's All Coming Back to Me Now"

One of the biggest regrets of my life was never seeing Celine when she was in VegASS.  Gosh, it makes me so mad just thinking about it now.  The amount of time I spent down south before I moved out here, and we always said we'd see her the next trip and the next and then she was done, and I was left with a big void until this weekend.... I finally got to sing my little heart out with the queen herself...
Luckily a whole year ago, (yes, that's right, Michele bought these tickets a freaking year ago)....Michele had the foresight to know that we NEEDED to see Celine this weekend in DC.  It was quite the show, and we weren't disappointed.  Another dream of mine might have been to have a pink Celine shirt (thank you "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days").... What do you know?  All of my dreams came true this weekend, and they came true with one of my besties.  I was definitely in need of some Michele time.  Thanks for the fun time lady love!!
Holla!!

"Hannah..."

is ruining my life.... rain all freaking weekend, are you kidding me?

"The Good Ones"

If you're in the mood for a good one here are a couple for you....

A note about this one... I thought that Scarlett looked good and then Penelope came on and I was blown away. She looks freaking AMAZING in this, and Tia and I agreed that for some reason she's a much better actress in Spanish. I loved her fights with sexy pants Javier. I'm telling you, there's something about those Spaniards...

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot"

This was my THIRD Labor Day in NYC... WOW! I can't really believe it...That sounds like a lot to me. I've spent all of those Labor Days at the US Open. I thought I'd done the US Open the previous two years, but I really had NO idea.

Day 1: Heidi Tia and I survived the crazy crazy heat...

long enough to have to whip out our umbrellas 12 hour later... Yes, that's right, we spent 12 hours watching tennis, and I LOVED every minute of it.

But I MOST loved it when we were on the front row watching this sexy piece of work... Seriously, can you get over those arms? And that hair? Carlos Moya is AMAZING... I kept trying to get him to look at me, but that's his blonde bombshell of a wife in the background... Why do all the sexy ones have to be married to models?
Day 2: I think we logged in about 9 hours this day... You can't beat court side seats though, eh? I kind of loved being that close to the action even in the smaller stadiums. We got to see Murray play in a really close match this day... Unfortunately Murray is a pretty good player but not too good on the eyes...

Day 3: Another 11 hour day...We hit up Arthur Ashe and saw Venus and Nadal... What is it with the sexy Spaniards? I need to find me one of them....

Looking a little ragged after three long days of cooking in the hot hot sun...
