"Africa"

The country directors in Africa send out random updates to the old volunteers, and sometimes they're kind of funny to read. They take me immediately back to last summer. I have to say.. when I read this paragraph, I was completely blown away and glad that this DID NOT happen to me last year. Read it, it will sick you right out....

So Sunday night I was noticing I was getting a blister on the side of my right big toe but didn't think anything of it. Monday morning, I was looking at my toe and noticing that the blister was white. I tried to pop it, and a really thick paste-like substance came out. A few hours later, I noticed some more, and got it out and noticed that they were really tiny little eggs, then saw that the eggs were encased in a sac that was not attached to my skin, but was inside my skin!!! Ahhhhh!!! So I guess I have been the carrier of some sort of eggs for the past few days. They looked like rice, but about 1/50 the size. Pretty gross huh? I wear Chaco sandals every day, and now that I think of it, I fell in that ditch last week and my feet were covered in who knows what…..uh….. Haha…awesome L

Here's some pictures that Nici and Ryan took last summer.... They're pretty professional, right?

"Time to Pretend"

I couldn't have agreed with Ali more than when when she said the only reason she looks forward to Mondays is Gossip Girl and the only reason she looks forward to Tuesdays is the NY Mag Gossip Girl Blog. (ok, I may add the Bach on Mondays and AI on Tuesdays, but you get what I mean)
This show is AMAZING. Every week when we get together at PHA we're all blown away... I'm sad we'll have to wait until fall for more of the fun... At least we have the Bachelorette to keep us going...
I can't get this little number out of my head... I'll be listening to it all summer thinking of Dan.

"At The Zoo"

Saturday, while we were waiting for the first coat of paint to dry, we went to Parker's birthday in C-Park. We actually went to the zoo, which I had never been to, but it was pretty fun.
The birthday boy...

The goats were a little creepy, but Davis had fun feeding them.

The boys had fun watching Davis feed the creepy goat...
The group, minus the birthday family...
Happy Birthday Parker!!

"Lucky Star"

During the last game of the Houston series I got a text from my mom that said, "If the Jazz win, I'll buy you a shirt." Two days later, I got this shirt in the mail...I guess it's good luck because my boys brought it tonight and made it a series!
YOU GOTTA LOVE IT BABY!!

"It's Raining Men"

Friday, Ali and I went to see the Paul Taylor Dance Company at the Joyce. It was actually really cool. They performed four classic Paul Taylor numbers that had been restaged. I have to admit, sometimes boys in tights crack me, but I got over it and loved it... Plus, modern always takes me back to dance in high school.. you gotta love VHS memories....
It's stuff like this that makes me kind of love living here. HOLLA!

"I Feel It All"

We kicked off the concert season with Feist at the Hammerstein last week...

She was such a little rock star.... I just wish I wasn't getting old and my back didn't hurt from standing for three hours... I need to start going with seats instead of GA... Every time I go to a show with a hardcore pixie singer I want to be her... I would be Feist, or Jenny, or Neko in a second...

This show got me sooooo excited for more goodies to come.... Rilo, Wilco, Radiohead oh boy, oh boy.. Too many good ones to handle... HOLLA!

"Helicopter"

For Karen and Bryndee's combined birthday celebration, I joined them for little heli ride around the city. It was pretty amazing.

It was never explained to us how to use these... But apparently they were going to save our lives if something went wrong.

Getting ready to board...We were pretty excited.

Bryndee was the copilot...

It was a pretty cool way to see the city...

Empire State Building

Central Park

Statue of Liberty

Upper West... Our neighborhood.. HOLLA!

Post flight...
Don't worry, I almost threw up on our flight, but I pulled it together enough to take this pic....

"MIss You When You're Gone"

Karen's gone... Ah, I can't even think about.. It's just a big suck fest... But we did have fun before she left...

South Street Seaport...One last dinner at Patsy's with the girls...

All of this moving is making me think about where I'll go next... SoCal? London? SLC? Who knows, but I'm getting the moving bug...
