"Still, Still, Still"

This morning we went to Music and the Spoken Word at the Conference Center. I always like to go to it the Sunday before Christmas. It's just long enough to get some good music in, but not too long that I get bored. One of the songs the choir sang was "Still, Still, Still" I kind of love that song.

And last night was our girl Christmas party... Husbands and boyfriends were not allowed. It's just more fun that way.

On Sunday Craig and Mary had a bunch of people over for a Christmas dinner....

The food was pretty amazing. I almost felt like I was back home for Sunday dinner.

Davis, and I went with some friends to see Handel's Messiah at Carnegie Hall. Let me tell you, it was quite the experience.

I have to admit, it was pretty cool to go to Carnegie, since I hadn't been inside since I've lived in New York, but I'm not really the biggest classical fan. So, I started getting a little bored, and I started talking to Davis. I got in trouble and was told if I didn't stop talking I would have to move. Then, Ron got a little bored, and whipped out his phone and started texting. He got in trouble too. Since Davis and I both came from work, hadn't eaten, and we kept getting in trouble, because let's face it we were bored, we opted to leave early, after "Hallelujah," and hit up the Burger Joint for some burgers and shakes. So, was I glad I went tonight? Yes. But should most classical events be half as long as they are? Yes, and I'm 100% sure leaving early was the right decision. amen.

Apparently I've been seeing a lot of movies lately.... Last night we saw this one...

And I'm not sure my dreams will ever be the same.... SO FREAKING SCARY...

Just a warning.. I felt sick to my stomach at the end because it was so intense.

So, last night we went to Juno, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. I'd seen the trailer and wanted to see it, and then Becca blogged about it, and I decided I HAD to see it. Honestly, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT, it's funny, cute, sad, touching.. It's really everything you could want. I just can't even say how much I enjoyed this little show. So, flock to the theatre. I promise, you won't regret it.

"Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"

Michele was in town for the weekend to take in a little NYC-Out-Of-Control-Christmasness.

We had a pretty great time per the usual. It reminded me of last year ... Oh boy, oh boy, don't get me started on how much I miss this girl. I wish she could just get her act together and freaking move back here already, and Karen.. don't move... I'm going to die if you do.

Last night we had our annual Christmas party. For some reason these nights get a little out of control. And I always wonder if everyone is secretly drunk. It was definitely a good time. I feel like there's a good chance most of my girls are going to be leaving the city in the next few months, and I'm not going to lie, just the thought depresses me.

Anyways.. we had some pretty funny gifts last night. I got the coveted "What Would Riggins Do?" shirt.

And in case you're stupid and don't know who Riggins is.... Here he is in all of his sexy teenage girl crush goodness... Wow, doesn't he kind of blow you away?

"Eat, Pray, Love"

For book club this month we had a hard time deciding what aspect of the book we wanted to participate in while discussing...eating? praying? or loving? Oh wait, we didn't have that hard of a time... We're all Mormons, so I'm pretty sure we get enough praying in... and, again, we're all Mormons so we're not really getting that much loving in...We settled for eating at Serafina. The other two are definitely overrated, and, besides, Italy was by far the best part of the book.

Davis has a secret gift for spotting celebs. We were out and about on Saturday and we maybe ran into a pretty big one.

Anyways, I LOVE Davis' secret talent because, let's face it, I'm a sucker for celebs, and I'm especially a sucker for A-listers like Harry....

Karen and I went to see Tegan and Sara the other night, and I kind of loved it.

Why do lesbians seem to make such great music? Maybe if I was one I could make great music too?? Just a thought... What do you think?

Yesterday I got this picture from my mom. I was so jealous that there was snow in Utah. Davis and I were out and about the whole day on the scootsies and we kept talking about how much fun it would be if it snowed in NY.

I woke up today and guess what was outside... That's what I'm talkin'bout. Now it finally feels like the holidays around here.
