For the 4th we headed out to Cali with Rob to stay with Chris and Amy!
We were VERY jealous of where they live, and it made us question our decision to stay in NYC longer...

We rented a boat and cruised around Balboa Island...

On the 4th we headed up to Sunset Beach to hang out with Ali and her family... We miss her in NYC!

Now we're back in Utah wishing that we could extend our trip even longer... or maybe just move back!

"Snow Angel"

Yesterday we went up to Alta to go hiking. Usually you can hike all the way over to Brighton, but yesterday snow and road closures kept us from making it all the way.

If you don't believe that there was snow on JULY 1st, here's the proof...

"Stars On the Water"

Last Thursday we barely, barely, barely made our flight to Utah... The next morning we headed up to Star Valley to hang out with the family. We had fun launching rockets, firecrackers, tie-dying shirts, playing cards, hiking, swimming, and hanging around with the kids. Lyla had so much fun she skinned her nose on the dirt road, sad...

We had fun hiking around in the Tetons.

The weather was amazing, and it felt SO good to be outside in the sun!

We also hit up the SVR luxury pool, where Davis had a hard time lifting me...

The saddest part was they wouldn't let us rent a ducky to go down the river this early in the season... BOO for no rafting...

"A Passing Feeling"

Guess what... I'm officially an LMSW!!
Yes, I FINALLY took my test and passed, after two LONG years of procrastination. Now that I don't have that hanging over my head I can start reading again without feeling guilty about it. I'm starting out with something light that I started back in the fall and never finished...
Once I finish that gem, I have a long line of goodies I need to catch up on...
In other news, Davis got a job in NYC... So I guess we'll be sticking around these parts a little longer. It's strange because when I thought we were going back to Utah, I was sad, and now that we're staying I want to go back...
I guess I'll never be happy, but hopefully my 2 1/2 week jaunt out west will fill all of my needs for a bit... We're leaving TOMORROW!

"Twelfth Night"

There's been some awful awful weather around these parts.. We were inside as long as we could take it, but after 92 days, we decided it didn't matter if it rained on us anymore, and we decided to get out by going to "Twelfth Night" in Central Park...

I wanted to go to see what it was all about and because Anne Hathaway was in it, but not necessarily because I would enjoy it and guess what... it kind of blew me away. It was surprisingly fun to see it in the rain, the show was really funny, and the music (I didn't know there was going to be music) was AMAZING.. AMAZING... It was fun to take advantage of something FREE too!

In other celebrity news...
We saw Bruce Willis after church last Sunday with a beautiful model... Bruce wasn't looking too shabby either...
We also spotted the guy from that hit movie, Singles Ward, walking down the street the other day...
We also Jensen, of Siegfried and Jensen at church... I have to say that sometimes Davis is a star when it comes to spotting celebs... HOLLA!

"Something's Missing"

Ali's gone, and it just doesn't feel right in the city...
She just kind of made the perfect two-some (with me),

three-some (with me and davis),

and four-some (with me, davis, and ron)...

It's hard to find a friend that fits in with our alternative living situation, and we're very sad that she's gone...
but we did get in a fun game of duck, duck, goose on her last day... Ya!
We are now taking applications for a new friend...

"Don't Stop Believing"

This weekend Karen and Michele came for a visit. Luckily, Ron was out of town so it worked out perfectly... It was just like we had a guest room! Lately, I've been missing having really good girlfriends around so it was fun to do the things we used to do all the time together. Even though I know it's not going to happen, I REALLY wish these two still lived here. I really felt like they did this weekend, and I kind of loved it. Here's some pics of our adventures....

We started out with a little brunch from Good Enough to Eat...

We took a break from our busy day playing dress ups...
Then headed down to Canal Street for some funny times. The cops were out in full force and it made everyone a bit paranoid. We finished the day with some corn at Cafe Habana...

We had the mandatory Sunday Dinner at Patsy's...

Then Karen, Bryndee, and I headed down to Times Square for a show and look what we found... There's nothing more relaxing than doing yoga in TS...

The grand finale was Rock of Ages which I am kind of obsessed with. It was one of the funnest shows I've been too... super fun music, super funny... just good times... Also, now I can't get "Don't Stop Believing" out of my head. I may have downloaded the version of the show...

Now I really need them to move back. Holla!

"The Great Salt Lake"

Ali and I have enjoyed a few good shows together here in NYC and last night was our last... BOO.

We hit up Band of Horses at Carnegie Hall... Here we are looking nice a wet from the rain that is killing our lives...

The show was kind of amazing, really amazing, actually. Ali said that the acoustic version of "The Great Salt Lake" made her happy she was going home, and I think it made me a little envious of her. I dreamed about moving back last night and woke-up completely over NY.

I'm getting pretty upset about this being her LAST weekend before heading back to the home land...

If you didn't know... Ali (my old roommate/bed-mate), is sisters with Davis', brother's, wife... GET IT??

So, the brother and his wife (Ryan and Macy) came for a visit, and it was a lot of fun.

We hit up Bubby's for brunch...

And Davis told some funny jokes...

Hung around downtown...

We were even lazy in the old apartment where I wish I still lived...

Then we topped it off with Central Park on Sunday... Holla Bolla!!

Now we're just working on an invite to the Pew family vacation since we're so interconnected!

So, I've decided that Lyla needs a brother -- Riggins, and I've found the perfect one...

Isn't he the CUTEST thing you've ever seen?? I'm kind of dying over him.
